Hello Netters

The following are the hits I received in response to my query about an
Information Literacy Policy. Many thanks to all who responded. It's lovely
to see the amount of kind and helpful people out there. I have appreciated
all your support.

A day or two ago, Joyce had her own site on the listserv. You might want to
look at what she has at
http://mciunix.mciu.k12.pa.us/~spjvweb/aup.html
or at her research page or information literacy page at
http://mciunix.mciu.k12.pa.us/~spjvweb/
where you can click on either topic down near the bottom of the page.

Try searching the LMNET archives, they are really helpful:

Good luck! If you get any new information would you share it as a HIT?

Dear Anneli - Information Power 2 is the "bible" from the American Library
Association, et al. Last year the Connecticut Educational Media Association
condensed some of the material into a one page summary of what an
information literate lesson plan might contain. I've sent you a copy.

Regards,

Julie

Sorry no copy in the e-mail, maybe in the post? How lovely to even have
people willing to send you things through the post.

I am not sure what you are looking for. My district does not have such a
thing. However, I was just visiting the ALA website and they ahve some
different pages about the rights of students and libraries.

Hello there,

I've been looking for similar information and came across a site
which seems to put things in a nutshell and may be helpful in
drawing up your policy.

See if there is enough info at the ALA (American Library Assoc.) site.
Their book Information Power would be another source.

Hi Anneli,

With regard to your request for your information Literacy Policy,
have you been to the following web site?

http://www.eddept.wa.edu.au/centoff/cmis/eval/curriculum/info/index.h
tm
Another web site I have found useful is

http://www.ozemail.com.au/~d2730pn1/lib.htm

I have also been asked to develop and information skills policy
for my school(Primary), so please post a HIT of your replies.
I was interested in the video you mentioned and I wrote for more
details, so far no luck. Are there other videos?

Cheers,
Kathy
