WOW! What an amazing group! I got lots of information and ideas to help = the first grade teacher with a hemophiliac in her class, including books. = Free books no less. I also spoke to a very nice lady named Gita at Coram Hemophilia Services, she is the "patient advocate" for the company and = she was wonderful. I found her through the first response I received from LM_NET. The website is listed below, along with other helpful = responses. I forgot to ask if I could include the names of the people who helped me = so I am just posting the comments without names. I do want to thank each one = of you for taking the time to help me. I am so lucky to be in a profession where the very nature of that profession ensures that my peers will be intelligent, resourceful individuals committed to helping others. ****************************** Go to this website: http://www.coramhemophilia.com/resources.htm=20 Click on: For Kids Scroll down.=20 It's order no: K3 =20 It looks like you can order it for free.=20 ******************************* Hi, We've also got a first grader with hemophilia. The local hospital = came and talked with the staff and had pamphlets, etc. You might contact = the hospital or the local chapter of hemophiliacs for info to share. ********************************************* I would hope a pediatrician who specializes in hemophilia might be able = to make a suggestion.... maybe a call to a local dr. or hospital would = point you in the right direction. On the other hand, sometimes too much information is a bad thing... do = they really need to know exactly why the child wears a helmet? ********************************** Your dilemma peaked my interest...I checked Amazon.com and found = nothing for kids level. I checked our Minuteman Library System and came up with = this adult book...but it says it has bibliographic references - they are = probably all adult books, but maybe not.
