REF: Top reference books for middle schools

My reference collection in a 6-8 middle school is very
dated.  I am interested in knowing what books you find
indespensible in your reference collection.  Please
list the top two or three for each category below,
along with the format.

Encyclopedias



Geographical (atlases)



Bibliographies & Indexes



Ready Reference (almanacs, etc.)



Dictionares
