TECH: iMac's and color printing

I have OS 8 iMac Computers in a lab with other computers and one of the iMac
computers will not print in color - all the other ones do--(we have a Laser HP
4500 color printer). I can go the Chooser and select the printer, I can then
go to File and Print and change the printing options but I can only get it to
print in color in ClarisWorks and not in any of the other programs like
HyperStudio, KidPix, Kid Works 2, etc.  Does anyone have any ideas what I can
try to get it to print in color?
