Good Evening - I am working on a project with a seventh grade teacher that will, broadly speaking, cover civil rights. We've decided that after some general introductory lessons/discussions about civil rights that the classes will break into small groups to research different civil rights movements in the US. The civil rights movements presently under consideration are those of the African Americans, Chicanos, Native Americans, and women. The students will be looking at major issues, timelines, leaders, considerations of present status as well as future possibilities, etc. An essential piece of this assignment will be the creation of student generated web pages and one key element to those pages will be a section in which students evaluate web sites. Therefore the question is: Do any you have some recommendations for web sites that deal with these topics? I will post a hit of the responses. Thank you in advance.
