Hello to my mentors--

I am working as the (volunteer) librarian for an 80-student K-12 school that
is not funded for a library. I'm not a trained librarian but I've learned a
lot about how to do this job here from all of you. I'm hoping you can help
me out with a request that came to me from our interim principal this week.

He wanted to recommend a book to our grade 4-6 teacher that he has used
extensively in the past but has forgotten the title of. It's something like
"Treasure in the Snow" and dates, he believes, from the 50s or 60s. It's set
in Norway in WWII and the plot centers on kids skiing down a hill and then
burying the (town's?) gold inside snowmen to protect it from Nazis. Can
anyone help me identify the book?

My apologies if this is something everyone but me knows--and many TIA.
