Sorry for having taken so long to post a hit.  The following was the
only response I got regarding my request for suggestions on starting an
after school Internet Club.  Thanks for the information, Cathy.

Rita, think about an online project that will keep the kid's interest
over a period of time, and keep them coming back.  There are some
simple data sharing projects, online live adventures and quests.
Biased as I am, I personally would suggest that you look at joining
one of the online projects offered at OnlineClass
<http://www.onlineclass.com>
which would allow your group to study a topic online and to interact
with other kids.
We have a number of afterschool groups using these projects.
