Hello, I doing a group project on the impact of computers in the classrooms. One of our questions is: What role should teachers play in determining how to incorporate computers into the curriculum? I have done a lot of research on this and have come up with many "ideals," especially from Jamie McKenzie and Doug Johnson, but I thought it would be useful to have some "real world" input. That's where I hope you will come in. Ideally, teachers should have training and input into technology planning before computers are placed in their classrooms. Could you please take a moment to answer the following questions? 1) Are teachers in your district required to attend computer training prior to having computers installed in their classrooms? If so, what type of training? 2) Do the teachers in your district have a significant role in technology planning? Thanks in advance for your help. I'll post a HIT. For those of you waiting for a HIT on the Caldecott activities, it's coming. I didn't get too many responses, but they are still trickling in, so I want to wait a bit longer.
