Group:

I received some information and a lot of requests for a hit. By the way, the grant
was a local one given twice a year by a foundation set up by the community. The
grants can be up to $3000. Here is the little bit I found out so far:

I have a morning news program and would love to have a retractable backdrop.

We currently use a sheet painted by students. If you get a hit, please pass

it on TIA

____________

Don't know where you would purchase them, but you could start by asking

your local tv station. We got a couple of portable blue screens with our

editing stations (package deal), but we don't use them very much. Last

summer we got a room all to ourselves, so all of our editing equipment is

there, as well as an anchor desk (a circulation desk in a former life).

When we thought about what sort of background we wanted, the class decided

to paint it blue screen blue so that we could make any sort of background

we wanted. You might want to consider that.

We do a weekly school news show every Friday afternoon, with several

specials during the year. Right now we're working on the Christmas special.

You could use a blue curtian instead of a roll up back drop. I have found the VHSC
cameras are beneficial. They hook into the system and you can use them for other
purposes. I also have a Videonics

machine and a sound board. I use EZ Prompter as a teleprompter program. I keep it
simple. You can use a hyperstudio or power point program. You will need a computer.
Try getting information from your

local camera studio store. Good luck. It is a big undertaking but well worth the
time and the rewards are fabulous!

___________

Hi, I am sorry I have no answers to your questions. We are painting

some we are painting some backdrops, but have been told they would

crack on a pull down roller. What are you using for the backdrops.

Could you please post a hit??

I bought an action slate at the Dollar Store in August. Good Luck!

Thanks to all who contributed. I am on vacation for the rest of the week. If more
info comes in I will do another HIT.
