Dear LM-Netters, Several weeks ago I posted a TARGET looking for sources for finding info. on famous people with learning disabilities. I received many responses--all of them useful. She is dyslexic and disgraphic. Read the book Thank You Mr. Falker. He is an artist who struggled "...to overcome severe learning difficulties as a child and immense physical challenges later in life. Their fund raiser each year was to invite celebrities with LD. The phone number is 202- 965-6600 Avi, the young adult author, has dysgraphia, according to Lives and Works (Grolier). It made his writing very difficult to read in school. He overcame it to become a prolific writer. The acclaimed Virginia artist, P. Buckley Moss, is dyslexic and devotes a great deal of effort and money to raise awareness of special needs. She has written an autobiography, I think, and I know has dedicated one of her prints to raising awareness, based on her own childhood difficulties.
