Hi, I am Pam Williams. I am currently in my third year as a LM Specialist of an elementary school. Before this position, I taught for 20 years at the middle school level. I loved middle school before moving to elementary but the library position was available, so I somewhat reluctantly made the move. Now, a middle school library position will likely be available next year and I am unsure if I should request a transfer. I have consulted librarian friends but most of them have been elementary or middle and have not spent time im both environments. I want to hear from those of you who have been LM Specialists in different types of schools and at different grade levels. I really want to know first hand, what are the percieved advantages and disadvantages of different grade levels? Has anyone moved from elementary to middle and regrets doing so? Please help. I will post a HIT for anyone else who may be interested in this topic. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
