Folks,
I have another issue today. This may sound familiar to someone out there.
If so, please direct me.
One of my science teachers has his kids doing research on various
organizations devoted to nature conservation like Sierra Club, Nature
Conservancy, etc. He wants them to research what the orgs do and what
their cash flow situation is, etc. Research of a structural nature as
opposed to finding articles about conservation and politics. The teacher
seems to think that a number of years ago he saw an article in Outside
magazine that compared a few of these organizations (fundraising,
missions, etc.). The closeset I've come is to find an article from the Jnl
of Environmental Ed. from April, 1998 that shows geographic membership
patterns in three national environmental organizations. I also came across
a Harvard Business Review interview with Nature Conservancy's president
and CEO from September, 1995, in which he discusses what his organization
is all about. What I'd really like is a comparison type of article as
suggested by the teacher, OR a way to research some of these organizations
ourselves and be able to make the comparisons. I've checked their
webpages, but apparently whatever information the students are supposed to
be finding is not available in those locations, so it must have to do with
cash flow and perhaps rating the organizations by comparing them to each
other. TIA.
Jody
