At Last!
The meeting you've been waiting for!!!

The Central New York Library Association
Holds Its Long-Postponed Organizational Meeting
for the 2000 - 2001 Year.

Meet the new slate of officers:
Jackie Groves, President
Katherine Cronn, Vice-President/President-Elect
Betsey Carnevale, Treasurer
Joy Patterson, Secretary and Legislative Chair
Erin Dinneen, Past President

About the meeting:

December 14, 2000
Spaghetti Kettle on Route 5, Kirkland
Cash Bar, 6 p.m.; Dinner 6:30 p.m.

Dinner will be $18 for non-members, and $16.00 for members.

Entree choices include: Chicken Riggies, Prime Rib or Haddock Francaise

Dinner is sit-down with family-style sides of antipasto, greens and
beans,

favorites!

edinneen@clintoncsd.org --OR- 853-5574 x301

As usual, we need at least 20 members to participate or CNYLA has to
make up
the difference in dinners from the treasury. Please join us!!!

IMPORTANT! We are currently looking for someone to serve as Membership
Chair. This
person would work with the President and the SLMS Membership Committee
to
increase membership in both SLMS/NYLA and CNYLA.

Join CNYLA!

*A mere $10.00 will buy you a year's membership, which will entitle you
to a
directory, a discount on meeting meals, and a sporadic newsletter.Since
we
haven't collected dues in ages, we figure it is a clean slate, and time
to
build our membership list from scratch.
* WHO is eligible for membership? Anyone in the Central New York area
who has
an interest in libraries, library programs or funding, and wants to meet
four
times a year with other exceptionally interesting people for stimulating

programs. Since CNYLA is an affiliate of the School Library Media
Section of
NYLA, we encourage school library media specialists to consider joining.
Of
the more than 7,000 libraries in New York State, over 4,000 alone are
school
libraries, yet only 860 school librarians belong to SLMS/NYLA. CNYLA is
a
good way to find out about these organizations and what they can do for
you.
