TECH: pc book processing software?

Greetings On this last day of vacation!  A co-worker has conned a really
nice new stand alone pc for her elem library and would like to load it
with a book processing program for her zillions of donations that are
spilling off the shelves.  Any suggestions would be very welcome!Thanks-
