Welcome to the wonderful of the Web. Like banner adds on Yahoo or
AltaVista, cookies are the price we pay for free access to web sites.

There are however ways to avoid the inevitable "spam fest" that
follows a visit to many of these sites. The easiest way I've found to
avoid the junk mail avalanche is to obtain another e-mail address -
one of the free ones - from places like Yahoo, Hot Mail or Excite.
Then, go back into preferences area of your web browser and
substitute this new "free-mail" address for the one that was there
before if it was your main e-mail address. The free-mail address
will now be the one left behind as part of the cookie information
when you click from web site to web site.

If you feel charitable, you might check your free-mail box once in a
while to delete the junk message - or maybe not. Then your free-mail
box will fill up and all those junk messages will simple bounce back
to their sender. Now, won't that be sad ;-)
