Please, please, please share/post a hit of any responses that you receive!
I am in the same boat as you!

Last year when I did my internship in an elementary school library, the
"specials" teachers got together to create a PowerPoint presentation about
their subjects and their curriculum.  They included pictures of the students
participating in some activity in their classrooms.  This presentation was
then projected onto a screen set up in the library while a CD (recorded  by
the district's high school chorus) played as background music.

A sign at the main entrance advertised the availability and location of this
presentation.  Parents were ecstatic to see their kids and learn about these
subject areas.  One enthusiastic parent even told the district's
superintendent that she should go see the presentation and perhaps do
something like that herself!

(I do not have access to this kind of equipment at my school.)
