Hello everyone - I was away for the long weekend for my mother's 80th birthday, to explain why this response took so long. . . . Many, many of you responded to my question about how well your teachers plan ahead to make sure there are suitable resources available in the media center for assignments they give to their students. I had suspected this was a universal problem when I posed the question, but your responses put a very real face on the problem. The world tends to think libraries and the Internet can instantly answer all questions (plus I imagine some folks think librarians are mind readers, too!). We're all human. Your commments and shared experiences were great reading -- I will put together a little summary posting of them shortly. Thanks everyone! If you would like to add any ideas about how you've successfully (?) handled this problem, please email as soon as you can so I can digest the ideas and post a HIT on that aspect.
