Mandarin conversion

Dear Colleagues,
We are considering converting the data ourselves to upgrade from Mandarin
2.8 to 3.0.
Can anyone assist us with suggestions about the process, ways to avoid
problems, or
recommendations to do this differently ( if you did it yourself ).
We are hoping to avoid the three week turnaround time.
