When you have problems with printers it's helpful if
you can determine if the error is internal to the
printer or related to the computer.

If you go to HP's website or consult your owner's
manual, you should find instructions on how to print a
test sheet. On some printer models, you will need to
disconnect the printer from the computer to run the
test. Usually the test sheet can be printed either by
pressing a combination of keys on the printer's
control panel, by using the printer controls on your
Control Panel, or by using whatever control utility
(if any) you installed to run the printer.

I suggest you run the print test from the computer.
Then disconnect the printer and run the print test
from the computer's internal memory. If both test
sheets print normally, the equipment is probably
physically OK.

It's possible the long print job you're attempting is
causing a memory overrun. Like computers, printers
have a specific amount of RAM available to store a
print job as it's being run. Windows may write some
of a long print job to your hard drive temporarily.
If there is too little hard disk space, or too little
RAM available on the computer you're printing from,
this could cause a print error.

If the print tests work normally, try

-- purge all print jobs from the print control window
(look for the printer icon at the bottom of the
screen, or go to the Control Panel)
-- Reset the printer to erase any print jobs stored on
it
-- Turn off both printer and computer (If you're on a
network, and have a print server, turn that off too)
-- Reboot the computer you're printing from. Make
sure that at least 10% of the hard disk is empty.
Make sure you don't run any other programs before
starting AR.
-- Turn on the printer and try again

Let me know how if this helps.
