Hello again - Did anyone catch last week's season opener of Buffy the Vampire Slayer? (There's no rule against talking about that show here, is there? no -- I checked the archives....) I almost thought Giles was going to leave the show -- taking our leading contemporary media role model out of the public eye. But he stayed in the end....(he feels as underappreciated as we sometimes do -- he just needed to be needed) . But, the most interesting thing I thought was him finally scanning the old texts into the computer, because the information they contain is vital and needs to be preserved . . . And, be more accessible, I thought! That's what they need -- an e-book with all that stuff on it! An e-book doesn't exude the same atmosphere as yellowing, old, leather-bound tomes, but it's a lot more portable! (Hope they keep the tomes, though... reminds me of some of the books on our shelves) Jackie Jacqueline Church MLS grad student - media specialist track Southern Conn State Univ.
