Sadly I am soliciting advice from my colleagues. The school board has
decided to close down my school. The plan at the moment is to place much of
my library collection in storage since they hope to open another elementary
school in a year. But since school boards sometimes change their minds it
is possible the collection will not go anywhere but into storage.
(I currently work in 2 schools and have been told I'll be full time in my
other school, so I'm not job hunting.)

I need to pack for the interval with an eye towards possibly breaking up
the collection in a few years. I have to make decisions about books,
videos, AV equipment, Computer software, etc. I hardly know where to
begin, hence I have no ideas what all the issues are and potential
pitfalls. So far I've done little but start weeding. We use Follett's circ
and cataloging. We are included in Access PA, a statewide database of
library holdings. The people I've spoken with at conferences, etc. have
plenty of sympathy, but few words of advice.

TIA for your help
