Friends, I'm planning to take my parents through Connecticut over spring break with stops at places our ancestors lived, such as New Haven and East Haven, ending up in Boston to visit my son at Tufts. I've been trying to locate museums/historical societies that have works by relatives Reuben Moulthrop (late 18th cen. portraitist) and Amos Doolittle (New Haven silversmith, late 18th cen., who drew Rev. War battle scenes). Search engine results have been primarily from auction sites, or brief encyclopedic entries. Can you refer me to websites listing where collections of these artists' works can be found? (I know there are one or two Moulthrops at the Met.) Thank you very much!
