Sunlink Weed of the Month

I have been a faithful user of Weed of the Month prior to coming into a brand
new school!  I love it!  If you also love it and all that Sunlink has to
offer....hurry and write the Florida Legislature to let them know how
important it is to you...I understand that it is all up for budget cuts right
now!

 Good morning LM_NETters!


 The April 2001 topic for Weed of the Month is: Mathematics.

 When is the last time you purchased a really good book or AV item on
 mathematics? When is the last time you read a report on American student
 lagging in math skills? Your collection is not to blame, but maybe an
 aggressive weeding and replacement plan would help spark some student
 interest and achievement.

 A brief explanation of Weed of the Month for new LM_NET members: The
 SUNLINK Weed of the Month began in September, 1997, as an effort to help
 provide Florida's School Library Media Specialists with guidelines and
 suggestions for weeding their collections a little at a time as well as
 adding quality materials. The project idea and specific suggestions came
 from media specialists around the world via LM_NET, and SUNLINK's Weed
 of the Month parallels a similar effort taking place throughout the
 country. A section of a school library media collection is identified
 each month during the school year (September through May) as a weeding
target.
