Thanks so much for all the replies to my question about the reluctant mouse ball. The overwhelming response was that I needed to clean it out. Several suggestions were made for ways to do this. All involved removing the mouse ball. Various methods of cleaning were suggested: use a kit designed for that purpose, use a Q tip with alcohol on it to clean the inside, use fingernails to clean inside, use compressed air to clean the inside, clean the mouse ball with alcohol or soapy water, dry and replace. Several people also reminded me I need to clean off the mouse pad too - to get rid of the (the following are scientific terms) gunk, scuzz, yuck! One person suggested that I should also inspect the wire/ cord that leads from the mouse to the computer--that it might be permanently kinked and need replacement. Thanks so much for all the help. Guess I need to go do my spring house/mouse cleaning. Darlene Yasick, Media Specialist Hopkins High School lib027yas@juno.com Only a mediocre person is always at his best.
