HIT: Animated .gifs in PP

Thanks to everyone who replied to my question about importing animated .gifs
into a PowerPoint presentation.  In a nutshell - it works in PP 2000, but not
in older versions.  Here are the responses I received.  Thanks again for your
help!

<<<Our librarian forwarded your question to me.  You can import an animated gif
into a PowerPoint presentation.  It won't show animation, however, until you
actually are showing the slide show.  I recently completed 4 different slide
shows for our school and there were animations all throughout.  You import
it just like any other jpeg or gif you get off the internet.  You don't have
to add any html to it.  I hope this answers your question.>>>
