Hello, I am now in a school where the culture has been (for many years) that teachers didn't have to return books- ever! We have instituted somewhat shorter loan periods (7 weeks instead of 6 months). We send notices and sometimes get books back. We usually send a notice before the summer to return the books for inventory purposes or sign them out for summer loan. It doesn't help too much. This year, we are going to be on the Paycheck Chechlist - we willl have a line to sign if the teacher has returned their books. Does anyone else do this? If a teacher has lost the book, what do you do? Do you charge them for the cost of the book? Thanks in advance! ===== Erica Payne, Library Media Specialist Syosset H.S.
