Regarding donation policies, a recent letter to the editor of the Rocky Mountain News accused the University of Denver's Penrose Library of censorship, when it rejected--according to its selection policy--a donation of a book which purports to be a scientific refutation (and, hey, maybe it is) of the theory of evolution. Elsewhere in that same edition of the News could be found a "Classic Herman" comic which poked fun at the notion that it might be unjust that an older, rotund, unkempt male was being rejected for a position as a topless dancer... . Yes, a selection policy will provide some insulation from those who mean to promote their own agendas, and without regard for collection development, etc. This holds true even/especially when it is a personally prized collection of westerns that is being donated. Have fun. JEK ***** An inaccurate, out of date book kept on a library shelf, auspiciously for its "historical" value, is as a corpse kept 'round the house for sentimental reasons. Jeffrey E.
