Dear L_M Netters,

Short question: Where does using screen shots in handouts, to teach the use
of the program, fall as far as copyright issues?

Background:
I have checked the archives, copyright websites, and copyright books but I
can't find the answer to my specific question. I often make hand outs for
the students when I teach the use of a database, online encyclopedia etc.
These handouts have screen shots from the program I'm teaching. I've been
trying to pay more attention to copyright and learn all the specifics but
I'm not sure where this one falls. When I use it with the class I feel
fairly safe, but we would like to share these with our school board to show
them some of what we offer in the library (what they get for their money.)
Once we start handing them out to other people I feel like we maybe on
shakier ground, all of these programs that we want to hand out materials for
have been paid for so that our patrons have at home access.
