Mary Alice - sounds fabulous! If you will be including video at all in your plans, then perhaps you will take a look at HTTP://www.zevik.org - two film kits on China with activity sheets included. Also, the Maypole Kit is a wonderful way to bring in diversity (and not just for May either!) by using different colors for the ribbons - what I call the United Nations maypole - or having individual maypoles for the different cultures. Since maypole do(historically) show up in just about every culture (not just merry ole' England!), it's so interesting and very effective to look at how the maypole traditions are different (and how theya re similar) across the globe. Great way to weave together across-the-curriculum frameworks!
