Hi, After I posted my time management hit, I received two more. Here they are, and thanks again. I will gladly accept more, and post more hits. Jan Date: Thu, 26 Jul 2001 14:26:51 -0700 From: Bonnie Keyser <bkey@MILLENIANET.COM> I have found that using the jobbers websites (like Follett & Bound-to-stay-bound) to create my orders is a huge time saver. Our building secretary likes it better, too, as I print-out my order to attach to the purchase order. I highlight in SLJ what I wish to buy, then I, or my aide, enters it into my list. I set up various lists depending on what is in them: state recommendations, curriculum recommendations, etc. I then edit the list to make sure that nothing is ordered which I already have. This is much faster for me than page through huge catalogs and squinting at all those tiny order codes!Bonnie Keyser Library Media Specialist East Bradford Elementary School 820 Frank Rd. West Chester, PA 19380 WEST CHESTER AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT bkeyser@wcasd.k12.pa.us WEBSITE: www.wcasd.k12.pa.us/district/schools/EastBrad/default.htm ------------------- From: "Joanne Ladewig" <shatz1@earthlink.net> Date: Thu, 26 Jul 2001 17:36:26 -0700 Jan, Here's a tip I've shared a lot and found very helpful myself: On a small piece of paper (mini Post-it size), write the toll-free number for your automation tech assistance, AND your authorization number. Tape this securely on your telephone right under the receiver. This was a life-saver for me AND for my district tech people - they knew how to reach the automation assistance whenever they needed to, even if I had left for the day. And because my room backed up to the teachers' work room, I was constantly pestered by people "borrowing" my supplies. I finally emptied one drawer near the door, labeled it "The Borrowing Drawer" and put spare supplies (labeled "return to the Library Borrowing Drawer") like a stapler, scissors, etc. (You could use a basket or plastic tote box). -Joanne Ladewig formerly of Fairgrove Academy, now "Library Lady" at Lawrence Elementary School Library (as of Sept.
