Requesting a Story Title

Hi, folks,

Summer is now officially over in the county in which I work.  Pre-planning
begins tomorrow.  (We won't count the number of days I worked during the
summer to catch up on things from last year and to get a head start on this
year.)

I have a request for a story that I heard or read some time ago.  I was
telling one of the teachers about it.  She is changing grade levels and is
feeling anxiety.  The story may have been in any kind of motivational book,
possibly even with a religious affiliation.  I just have no idea where to
look.  I would like to give it to her to remind her that change can be good.

The story was about a little girl watching as her mother repotted some
plants.  The girl was concerned that the plants might feel uncomfortable
about having all the soil brushed off from their roots and moving to a new
pot.  The mother explained that the plants would be much better off in a new
pot with new soil and room to grow.  I read it at a time when I was
experiencing a major change in my life.

If you happen to know where I can locate this story, it would be greatly
appreciated.
