The Peninsula School District, in beautifully scenic Gig Harbor, Washington, seeks a full-time middle school librarian / LAP Reading Teacher. Our district is located just across the Tacoma Narrows section of Puget Sound from Tacoma, Washington. Our city is a harbor village, steeped in nautical tradition and culture. The middle school is located on a prime piece of real estate with a library that faces our harbor, Puget Sound, and Mt. Rainier. The position is part time librarian, part time LAP Reading teacher (majority: library). Our district is just implementing the Follett Circulation Plus and Catalog Plus systems for use in all libraries. There are eight elementaries, four middle schools, and three high schools in our 9,000+ student district in this supportive community. Salary is per the Washington State teachers' salary schedule. Washington State K-8 and library media certification is required.
