GEN: Switching to AR

Dear FEllow LM-Netters,

After much consideration and incentives from the school system, our school
is switching to AR.  I worked with the sales rep to get a quote for the
STAR program as well as the AR program.  I was told that I would get one
quiz for each one I already owned, when I send in my disks.  I waited all
summer for instructions on how to send in my quiz disks from my other
program.  I called AR several times and they couldn't find our purchase
order.  It finally appeared, but too late to take advantage of the funding
for this order.  I will now have to wait to order the STAR program until
the new funding is released.  I can still get the AR program, as that will
be an even exchange for my old program.

Last week the sales rep finally told me how to exchange the disks.
Evidently, they can not get the quizzes from the disks I am returning.  I
must provide them with a list of the quizzes I want.  That's no problem,
except I have a 53 page list of quizzes I already own and from Bookguide I
have a 123 page list of books that have AR quizzes.  I then checked the two
lists.  There are several quizzes in my old program that do not have AR
quizzes.  So I must now generate a list of quizzes to replace those
quizzes.  I then box everything up and send it in to AR.

Is this typical of AR?  Do they not send instructions on exchanging disks
or even a mailing label? If I had known how much trouble this was, I might
not have switched.

And of course, we started back this week and I have teachers waiting to get
started on AR.
