Prairie Literature

LM Netters:

I need your help.  I have an 8th grade English teacher who is looking for
literature she could use about the prairies.  She has taken excerpts from the
poem "Pioneers" and "Cimarron" but she is having trouble finding anything
else.  She is looking for short plays and poetry in particular but would
welcome suggestions of short stories and book excerpts.  She's not looking for
Westerns.

I have searched our collection here and given her a few things, but I know you
guys are great with suggestions on questions such as this, so I thought I'd
post it to you.
