The book is a raging favorite among elementary students who have heard it, "Lazy 
Tommy
Pumpkinhead" by William Pene Dubois. The power goes off in a storm and when it 
comes back on
Tommy gets his toes brushed, is dumped in a cold bath, etc.

It's out of print. Amazon lists used copies for over $100.00!
