TARGET: Personal: Analog vs digital phone info

Maybe someone on the listserv is a cell phone expert.  I've been looking
into changing my cell phone service to TracFone and was told by one
salesman to wait until Jan 02 for the  new product line because they are
switching from analog to ditigal phones.

This is something I know nothing about.  Any gurus out there who could
fill me in?
