Our lower school planning committee has asked me to find any information regarding: -- the length and beginning/ending time of a school day -- how to use the school day's time effectively (scheduling instruction time, lunch, planning time, etc.) -- the length of a school year They'd like to compare theories (6-hour day vs. 8; starting at 8:00 vs. 7:30, etc.; year-round vs. 10 months, etc.). Grade levels are 1-6. I have searched a zillion different ways and am at a loss. I'm looking for articles, books, organizations, web sites, etc. that can provide some insight. Maybe I just haven't come up with the correct search terms... They have already pulled info from ERIC. Any help that you can give me will be greatly appreciated! ________________ Danielle Montgomery, Librarian Norfolk Academy Batten Library Norfolk, VA dmontgom@norfacad.pvt.k12.va.us =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
