I was discussing Borders with one of my teachers. She had been told in one of their stores here in New Jersey that they didn't have an educators' discount card. They do have "Teacher Appreciation Day" when you can get a 20% discount, but this is a different date for each store and seems to be a once a year deal. I remembered this was a discussion awhile back, so I checked the archives and found the postings from January 2000. These indicated that there was indeed such a card and included a letter from a customer service manager indicating this had been addressed, as some stores didn't regard librarians as educators. My question is: Have they changed their policy since 2000? I would be especially interested in replies regarding the stores in Bridgewater, Livingston, and Toms River.NJ.
