My original query:
Is there a way to set up the spine label printing process so that you can
use the Winnebago made labels but print landscape so that they are
wider than taller?

The answer is YES!

Thanks to the people who sent me the instructions!

I followed the instructions and it worked (I had to tweak it a little). Try
it! They look a lot better than the other way around...

Here are the responses:

You can print labels in landscape - you have to set it to landscape two
places. In Reports - Labels - Material Spine Labels - click options and set
it to landscape there. Then you have to also go to the File menu, and set
Page Setup to landscape too.
On the Material Label Options screen, you may also have to click Page Setup
and adjust your margins. Ours are set to Left: .8, Right: .25, Top, .55,
Bottom .5. Yours will probably depend on your printer. I talked to Winnebago
tech support to get this to work.

.................

Under page set-up for the printer, select landscape and change page size to
US letter. In Winnebago options, set font to large and index to Selected
Barcodes. Also change options to landscape. The margins we are using are
left= .75   right=.5   top=.5  bottom=.5   width=1.5  height=.9
horizontal=.625 and verticle=.437 . These are for spine labels of 1
1/2 x 7/8 inch. We print with the long side running horizontally in
order to wrap around to book spine. The left margin had to be adjusted
about .25 in. in order to center the printing on the label . It took
several practice runs on regular paper but we finally got the right
combination.

............

It depends on which version of Spectrum you are running. The latest
version (which is just in the process of being released) 5.1 corrects
some of the problems printing spine labels by giving more choices.
Earlier versions are rather limited.
