Hello, Can anyone offer some advice/tips to implementing a student volunteer program in the library. I run a K-8 school library. I do not have a hired aide and instead rely on parent volunteers to do book checkout, shelving, processing, etc. Even with their help, there seems to be many tasks that don't get done when I need them to get done. I have been considering enlisting 6-8th grade students to help with shelf reading, book displays and other tasks. I would like to implement a program where students could help during their study hall. Any suggestions? Any success stories with this type of program? What rewards/incentives do you use? Thank you, Michelle Maniaci-Librarian St. Mary's School Elm Grove, WI mmaniaci@stmaryeg.org =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
