GEN: Great fun with trivia

Dear LM_NETter's:

I thought I'd share a fun idea that has been very successful at my
school during December.
I post a Christmas trivia question at the checkout desk for each day of
December that we are in school.  Students write their name and their
answer on a slip of paper and put it in a box.
At the end of the day, I go through the answers and sort out the right
answers from the wrong ones. I draw a winner from the right answers.
They get a candy cane or stickers, etc.

I also save all the right entries until the last 2-3 days before
Christmas break and then draw 2-3 winners for bigger prizes--CD, book,
candy, etc.
Kids come in to enter that don't usually visit.

Also, I put together a list of trivia questions and a list of song
titles to decipher and pass those out to the teachers.  They enjoy those
too.
