<<Does anyone have any basis to defend Bible stories in the collection in
an elementary school?>>

Well, I'm no lawyer, but if we can have the Greek myths, and stories from
other lands, why couldn't there be stories from the Bible? For one thing,
it's a question of cultural literacy. I'm a Buddhist, but I still know the
Bible stories, as do my children.  Bible stories are seldom proselytizing;
rather, they are just what they say..."stories."
