Dear LM_NET Colleagues Although LM_NET has its own netiquette, it is not possible to anticipate all problem situations and give examples for every instance. So, I would like to recommend a Website that offers some helpful e-mail information, one that I have used as a resource link for my workshops for a number of years. A Beginner's Guide to Effective Email (Revision 2.0), maintained by Kaitlin Duck Sherwood is quite a helpful resource for both new and experienced e-mailers. Includes topics are: What makes e-mail different, context, format, page layout, intonation, gestures, status, formality, greetings and signatures. There is an article on why she doesn't like electronic greeting cards, and she even has a poem about the hyphen in e-mail!
