Re: Online Encyclopedias

I am contemplating the purchase of an online version of an encyclopedia =
instead of the print version. Grolier offers 3 encyclopedias: Grolier =
Multimedia, Encyclopedia Americana and the New Book of Knowledge for the =
price almost equivalent to the cost of Encyclopedia Americana in print =
format. Of course, the subscription must be renewed yearly; however, the =
online versions are updated quarterly.=20

Currently, the library is using Grolier Online on a trial bases for one =
month. Thus far, many of the 9th graders and ESL students have used the =
New Book of Knowledge while older students prefer the Americana =
Encyclopedia. Few have selected Grolier Multimedia as a resource.=20

What is your opinion of these online versions? How do they compare with =
World Book online?=20
