Like Garry Jantzen, I've been following this thread. I read with interest all
the explanations. Not until I read Garry's explanation did I realize that
someone else thought exactly the same way that I did. Whenever we discussed
the DDS and certain subjects (i.e. Fairy Tales, Poetry, etc) came up, I would
just tell the students that it was a subject and much easier to find if it
was all together. No one ever questioned it afterwards AND more importantly,
it gave them a clear understanding of WHY!!
(Of course, we all know that we'd do the DDS differently if we could!!)

Just my "few" cents worth!!
