I started a new media specialist job almost four weeks ago and one of my
duties is to prepare the media centers for upcoming automation (which can't
come soon enough--luckily I have full time help plus volunteers, so it won't
be a nightmare). Right now, I am reorganizing the shelves in the primary
school to see what is needed in the collection and to also get the books in
the correct Dewey order.

I have done some "light" weeding....working backwards from the 900s and now
I am in the 600s. I find that I am going to have to take this alot more
seriously and do some "heavy duty" weeding.
We all need a good laugh....Here are some titles or subject matter that I
have found so far. ENJOY!!! : )

Someday You Will Go to the Moon
A whole series on careers, including, I Want to Be a Service Station
Attendant, I Want to Be a Waitress, etc.
Friday, I found some books about children who have Chicken Pox, Measles,
and Fevers.
(I guess we all have some of these relics or some more recent ones!!)

The information in these books can be "dangerous" so now I am going back
through the areas that I did and will pull ALL these books whether we have
replacements for the careers yet or not.

While on the subject, can anyone recommend a series about careers that
would be appropriate for the primary grades? Also, any suggestions for a good
series about countries would also be appreciated.
