Greetings! I'm a new librarian at a parochial secondary school. In 4 = months my clerk and I have finished bar-coding all the books, security = tagged them, and done an inventory. My problem is this: we're spending a lot of money (and time) bar coding = each issue of the 50 magazines we receive regularly, and students rarely = check any magazines out. We use the Follett system, and I called them for = ideas, but the only idea they had would only let students check out the = most recent issue. I'm almost ready to simply bar code issues as students = want to check them out. Does anyone have any other ideas? I've heard of using an envelope system = and bar coding envelopes, but is there a way to tie that bar code to a = specific issue once one is checked out? Thank you for your help!
