Colleagues: I'm seriously looking at getting a Mavica for school use. Wal-Mart has the FD75 on sale for $350, and the FD87 for $400. I doubt that we would have any use for the optional memory stick, as most projects will involve shooting only a few scenes for any one user. Does anyone have any suggestions one way or the other? The specs that I have indicate that the FD87 has a time/date stamp, while the FD75 does not. Since I don't want a time/date stamp on the picture, does that mean that I cannot use the FD87, or can that feature be turned off? Does anyone know of a better source (price) for these cameras? Final question: is there a better digital camera for the money? The main requirement is that it use standard floppy disks. I learned photography using the Nikon F-series cameras, and I'm not all that impressed with the digital cameras for the most part, but I find myself needing one.
