I have been thinking about the thread concerning weeding and "Books cost money". At first I figured that principal had to take the cake. I would also agree partially with the advice to quit since she cannot do the job she has been hired to do. However, I did some more thinking on it and wonder if the situation can b= e saved. In the description of the situation the PTA had given the funds fo= r the salary and purchase of books. I wondered how much input the principal= had in this decision. Might he be somewhat threatened and feel that the decision of the PTA was a reflection on him since the school didn't have = a librarian and/or a book budget. If he was cut out of the original decisio= n, this might be the way he can 'save face". = Perhaps a meeting between the principal, the PTA president and the librarian to talk over the situation and made sure all parties have a chance for input might save this. If not, then I agree with QUIT. Deborah J. Stafford Gen. H.H.
