I'm the media specialist in a K-5 school, and have encountered my second
book challenge this year. The title in question is The Watsons Go to
Birmingham--1963, written by Christopher Paul Curtis. The parent is
asking us to remove this title from our collection, based on language
she finds objectable (pgs. 30 and 82.) I would like to enlist your help
by soliciting your professional input. I will certainly share your
insight, as well as the outcome of this challenge, with the listserv.

Thanking you in advance, Joyce H. Nelson, Library Media Specialist
